Our 2015 Langi Shiraz (98 points) is one of James Halliday’s Top 3 Best Shiraz Wines of the Year, in the company of inimitable wine brands 2012 Henschke Hill of Grace ($825) and 2012 Penfolds Bin 95 Grange ($850), an honour for the Mount Langi Ghiran team.

Mount Langi Ghiran is well known for producing some of the best cool climate shiraz in Australia and our young upcoming winemaker, Ben Haines, is building an internationally recognized reputation in his own right.

Across the years, Langi Shiraz has seen various winemaker interpretations; the progressive and dynamic approach to the vineyard and winemaking here at Langi has been critical in exploring, and defining the essence of the Langi Old Block and Langi Shiraz.
2015 was a very special vintage at Mount Langi Ghiran, with near perfect conditions for grape growing resulting in exceptional wines characterised by stunning aromatics, wonderful natural acidity, fine and complex structure and effortless balance. It also saw Ben Haines at the helm for his first vintage and signalling a new chapter of progression and exploration at Mount Langi Ghiran.

Ben Haines attended the annual Qantas Epiqure Halliday Wine Companion Awards dinner on Wednesday 2nd of August where our 2015 Langi Shiraz was selected to be poured, side by side with Henschke Hill of Grace and Penfolds Bin 95 Grange as part of James Halliday’s Top 3 Shiraz Wines of the Year. It was an honour to be amongst such a high calibre of wines at such different price points.
