Please enjoy as chilled as possible without freezing your wine. We recommend to store your bottle upright for the lees to settle. If you prefer your wine more cloudy then lay down your bottle.
Pinot Noir (100%)
This unique and characterful wine is bursting with fresh strawberry, grapefruit and effervescent spice, and displays a subtle fragrance of forest floor earthy musk.
There is also a gentle bready toastiness derived from the yeast lees. The palate is tight, fine and dry, balanced by a subtly creamy texture.
Grown in the cool climes of the Grampians region of Western Victoria, this sparkling is fresh, textural and full of character. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, this wine was fermented in bottle in 2011, and has been maturing on its original yeast lees for 4 years.
This wine is in its original bottle, “undisgorged”.
This means each bottle still contains its original yeast sediment; the broken down yeast cells forming part of the wine and bringing stunning balance to the fine acidity, and imparting layers of complexity. There is a distinct and exciting texture in this wine too. Undisgorged also means there are no additives; no sugar dosage, no Sulphur dioxide, just luscious and delicious sparkling pinot noir.
Well, you wouldn’t read about it. Pinot noir, left on lees in bottle, no additives, no sulphur. Mount Langi have released what I assume is their first pet nat. It’s based around purity and vitality. Nailed it.
It smells of still fermenting pinot noir grapes, that prettiness of red cherry, sweetness of strawberry, whiff of herbs, pop of rose floral character. In the palate, light, fresh, fine, raised on fine perky bubbles, gently sweet then finishes sour sweet and with mouthwatering, pleasing bitterness. It’s a stunner. It’s so smashable. It’s so well done.
