Upon visiting the vineyard, you will be greeted by Langi’s astonishing views, and tempted by the exquisite wines on offer.
A selection of 5 wines is on tasting at Cellar Door and regularly rotated. During long weekends and special events visitors have the opportunity to taste Museum Releases and Limited Releases.

Every quarter, our knowledgeable team create a unique twin pack consisting of limited releases and back vintages at special prices!
We love sharing our passion and knowledge amongst groups, however we do ask groups of 10 or more to book in advance, we are then able to prepare for your visit and tasting. A tasting fee of $5 per person will be asked and can be redeemed with any purchase of $50 or more.

Mount Langi Ghiran Spinoff is the result of winemaker’s creativity and desire to create different wines that express the full diversity of the Langi’s terroir and beyond.
While the majority of Langi’s production is Shiraz, other red varieties planted at the estate include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. White varieties planted on site include Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Riesling.
Each year presents unique opportunities for the winemaking team to hand select high quality parcels to create innovative and unconventional wines for Mount Langi Ghiran.

Pinot Noir is sourced from a single vineyard, the Bradach vineyard, 40 minutes’ drive from Mount Langi Ghiran.
This Pinot Noir vineyard is planted to a rare and ancient clone. In 1983 when James Brady asked his neighbours at Bests winery if he could take cuttings from their vines little did he know he had his hands on one of the world’s oldest plantings of Pinot Noir. Planted on south facing slopes and with very limited water supply, the vineyard produces low yields of outstanding quality.
Over his years of marketing Langi wines to the UK, Trevor Mast had formed a close friendship with Italian winemaker Paolo Di Marchi of Isole e Olena and between them they conspired to ‘swap’ their favourite varieties, Trevor sent Shiraz and Paolo, Sangiovese and Barbera. It took many years for the vines to clear quarantine and it was not until 2000 that Trevor finally planted the Italian imports here at Mount Langi Ghiran. The Barbera making just one and half rows from the vines that survived the quarantine process.
Langi’s relationship with Sangiovese didn’t start smoothly. The years between first planting the block and first harvesting were far and long between and often a lack of resources would cause setbacks. However, Trevor Mast’s unwavering perseverance brought the wine to life. Sourcing clones from various regions across Australia, Langi’s first Sangiovese block was planted in 1992 and saw its first harvest in 1998.
Riesling from Western Victoria is highly regarded and Mount Langi Ghiran has a well-deserved reputation for its own Riesling with production dating back to the winery’s earliest years. The vineyard was planted in 1975 using the heritage Great Western clone and comprises, along with our original Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon plantings our trio of ‘Old Blocks’.
Blanc de Blancs
The Grampians region is famous for sparkling wines, pioneering the style in the 1800’s at Great Western and in the 1960’s defining the sparkling Shiraz style that is unique to Australia. Our founder, Trevor Mast loved sparkling wine and advised the Fratin brothers to plant an experimental block of Chardonnay in 1985. The production is limited to this small patch of vines, and the Blanc de Blancs is only released in the very best vintages. However, it wasn’t until a fellow devotee, Dan Buckle, joined the team at Langi that the Blanc de Blancs was born. The first vintage in 2007 was an instant success, showcasing the variety and demonstrating the Langi terroir.
There is no restaurant at Mount Langi Ghiran. But this doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy food with our wines.
We offer two different experiences for visitors who always match “Wine tasting” with “Eating”.
Visiting as a couple and up to 6, bring along your own picnic feast and discover our Picnic Idyll.
Or for groups from 8, book a private lunch ! In the winery or in the middle of the vineyard. We have teamed up with Rita from Red Rock Olives to ad mouthwatering food to your experience at Langi.
Rita works with seasonal produce of our region and Victoria. Menu includes but limited to share plates of olives, fresh local produce, cheeses, meats, terrine, breads, homemade dessert, etc… We can meet all dietary requirements, you just need to tell us in advance.
