97 POINTS – 2017 LANGI SHIRAZ | Coming Soon
“Tasting this makes you feel all’s well with the world. It’s the very essence of refinement, balance and elegance. It’s delicately aromatic with violets, pepper – just a smidge – wood spice and dark blue-red fruits. It’s ultimately a savoury wine. Velvety tannins, complex flavours and a lingering finish. Bravo.”
96 POINTS – 2017 MAST SHIRAZ | Coming Soon
“A tough call, but credit to Mount Langi Ghiran that when a hail storm hit in ’16, fruit destined for Mast and Langi was declassified. Both are back with a vengeance this vintage. Perfectly pitched and poised with just the right amount of red fruit, pepper, wood smoke and savouriness working across the medium-bodied palate. Tannins are ripe and detailed, the finish exceptional.”
96 POINTS – 2017 TALUS SHIRAZ | Buy Here
“62% from the 55yo Old Block, the balance planted between ’94 and ’05, open-fermented with 35% whole bunches, matured in French oak (30% new). Here the whole bunch component is more obvious, injecting a textural and flavour play that runs from nose to tail along the medium-bodied palate. Comparison with Cliff Edge turns on style rather than quality.”
96 POINTS – 2017 CLIFF EDGE SHIRAZ | Buy Here
“Part hand, part machine-harvested, open-fermented with a portion of whole bunches, matured in French oak (27% new). An almost perfumed bouquet, ultra-expressive, and an elegant medium-bodied palate of remarkable intensity and clarity, red fruits intermingled with black, the tannins silky smooth.”
96 POINTS – 2017 CLIFF EDGE RIESLING | Sold Out Buy 2018
No tricks to the vinification, just 42yo vines and a super-cool vintage, 4 weeks later than ’16. The bouquet and palate walk hand in hand, with what I can only describe as delicate intensity to the lime pith, lemon, green apple and white peach aromas and flavours, acidity just so.
94 POINTS – 2017 CLIFF EDGE CABERNET SAUVIGNON MERLOT | Buy Here
While shiraz takes centre stage at Mount Langi Ghiran, it’s always a lovely surprise when cabernet struts its stuff. A more genteel rendition with a balance of cassis, cranberries, black olive and earthy fragrance with some cedary oak. Everything integrated.
91 POINTS – 2018 CLIFF EDGE RIESLING| Buy Here
An austere rendition this vintage with some unresolved yeasty flavours mingling with the citrus, blossom and dried herbs. Super tight lemony-sour acidity and brisk on the finish.
