Set me back $31 at my local BWS. I’m sure there are better prices out there. Cliff Edge Shiraz has been in good form of late. It’s a sweeter fruit profile than we generally expect to see under this label, or from this estate, though it’s immaculately balanced and presented and has just-enough enough pepper-spice to keep lovers of this label happy. Spice notes though are certainly in shorter supply here than usual. Creamy mouthfeel, floral aspects, sweet raspberry and black cherry, perhaps just into plum. It’s a seductive wine, no doubt. Mount Langi Ghiran is certainly putting out excellent reds right now. Tasted : Aug17 Drink : 2018 - 2026+

Both bouquet and medium-bodied palate offer a tapestry of black fruits, spices and black pepper, tannins woven through the succulent, juicy black fruits, French oak there or thereabouts, and fine lingering tannins.

Youthful, deep purple/red colour and a fresh, bright, foresty bouquet, which reflects some whole-bunch ferment, but is mostly about red berry, cherry plum shiraz fruit, unencumbered by excessive oak. A very attractive wine, already drinking well but it has the structure to age well. Nicely managed tannins and bright acidity
