Adam Louder

Chief Winemaker

Adam Louder’s connection to Langi runs deep. Born and raised in the Grampians, he began his career here in 1998 as a young cellar hand under Trevor Mast, whose influence shaped his respect for cool‑climate Shiraz and site‑driven winemaking. After gaining global experience across Bordeaux, Napa Valley and Margaret River, Adam returned home in 2016 with knowledge from more than 30 harvests. He became Chief Winemaker in 2018.

Today, he leads the winemaking team with quiet confidence, describing Langi as a site “impossible to replicate,” defined by long, slow growing seasons and natural drama. Recent acclaimed vintages reflect his deep understanding of what makes Langi, “Langi.”

Liz Ladhams

Winemaker

Before turning to wine, Liz Ladhams built a global career in finance across London, Hong Kong and Melbourne. Returning to Australia, she began a Winemaking & Viticulture degree and joined Langi for harvest in 2019. Her precision, analytical strength and attention to detail quickly saw her offered a winemaking role.

Liz sees Langi as a place of “focus, quality and integrity.” Alongside winemaking, she leads the estate’s sustainability agenda and serves on the Western Victoria Wine Challenge committee, bringing thoughtful, measured contribution to both Langi and the regional community. Her transition from finance to hands‑on winemaking reflects her commitment to growth and continual improvement.

Damien Sheehan

Viticulturist & General Manager

Damien Sheehan found his path in viticulture through a love of landscape, seasons and vines. With over 35 years in the industry — and three decades at Langi — he has experienced every extreme the Grampians can deliver. He joined Langi in 1996, guided early on by encouragement from Trevor Mast. Decades of walking every row have given Damien an encyclopaedic understanding of each block and how it responds to different seasons. His work underpins the consistency and resilience of Langi’s fruit, especially in recent acclaimed vintages. For Damien, Langi remains a site that continues to “cast its spell on all who work here.”

Darren Rathbone

CEO & Winemaker

Darren Rathbone discovered wine while helping plant his family’s Yarra Valley vineyard in the mid‑1990s. After completing a chemical engineering degree, he worked harvests around the world — Bordeaux, Napa Valley, Burgundy and Champagne — and completed a Master of Science in Enology at UC Davis. He helped form Rathbone Wine Group and led the acquisition of Mount Langi Ghiran in 2002, a site he believed in deeply. His philosophy is to continually improve wine quality while honouring the site and Trevor Mast’s vision.

Under Darren’s leadership, Langi has refined its cool‑climate style, strengthened its sustainability focus and achieved significant critical recognition.

Every vintage is the work of many hands, united by a shared commitment to expressing this remarkable cool‑climate site.
