Trevor Mast was a legend of the Australian wine scene. Among his many accomplishments, he is most revered as a pioneer of cool climate Shiraz. The Mast Shiraz is our tribute to his memory, recognising his role in establishing the reputation of Mount Langi Ghiran. Thanks to his foresight, our vineyards showcase the ultimate expression of cool climate Shiraz.

Red cherries, rose and notes of eucalyptus. |

Black cherries, menthol, herbs, complimented by light spice. Flavours are supported by a terrific acid balance. |

Drinking at its peak now, though has the potential to cellar for a further 5-8 years. |

Fermentation method: Small open top fermenters. 50% Whole berry, 50% whole bunch. A mixture of plunging and pump-overs were used during fermentation. An average of 2-3 weeks total time on skins. Natural yeasts were used and once ferment was complete the wines were pressed to tank to settle overnight and then transferred to barrels to complete MLF. |
