Langi Shiraz is a revered benchmark for cool climate Australian Shiraz. From the fruit of old vines planted on our isolated vineyard in 1969, this landmark wine reveals the vibrant synergy between site and variety. The secret of what makes Langi Shiraz great lies in the unique character of the vines. The Langi Old Block shiraz vineyard dips and weaves across the landscape, proffering parcels of fruit of extreme complexity and stunning finesse. Each of these parcels is selectively harvested and then fermented separately to capture their inimitable qualities at their peak.

This 2003 vintage has been carefully cellared to harness its full potential of flavour development, ready for your enjoyment now.

Fractionally deeper colour than Cliff Edge; full-bodied, potent, powerful and dense wine; blackberry, spice, bitter chocolate and licorice; very good tannins and oak; long finish.

Big and very dense red that’s enormously complex with ripe plum, cassis, liquorice, tar, classy oak, toffee, mocha and a range of oriental spices. A classic label with a proven ability to age very well indeed. A fine example of a great Australian Shiraz.

Deep brick-red colour, tawny rim. Complex and very mature bouquet, still sound and full of interest and character. Lots of earthy, toasty, charcuterie and flake tobacco aromas, mellow and full-bodied, with some alcohol warmth and richness, and a long, long aftertaste. (reflects its unusually high 15% alcohol) Still has a lot of fruit sweetness and although it’s very soft and has no primary fruit remaining, it’s a very good drink and an impressive wine.
